Check your valves and start running synthetic oil. It helps a drive train out like you can't imagine.

I would start with removing the timex watch from under the seat, and then I would check the valve clearance.

lol, the ex's tick a little. if you adjusted them and everything seems fine i wouldnt worry to much about it. If its really loud then might need the new timing chain like they said.
