now this thing hauls serious a.. i put k&n filter in it that day too but omg its so much faster i cant believe it. only thing is when i first did it and crunk it it shot flames for a second and blowed some small white smoke and stopped once it warmed up. im gonna check for lean condition tommorow but i put sa 160 main jet in it and did the suggested needle clip. hope its ok cause it freaken hauls. i shortened 5 inches off.

I love the whole quad man!!!! thats awsome,,,, i'm not alone any more !!!! haha....i cut my yosh down to 9'' a while ago,, i love it, most people dont. but then again thats why its mine not theres :blah: ...you should be fine man, i cut 4 1/2'' off mine , polished it , looks sexy. I ran a 160 main in mine.. no lid and a k&n. i'm putting a 450r carb on thoe shes a 440 now. Nice quad again man**

its not louder maybe a little but the sound is more like a race machine than a piece of crap it is i have to say im not lying feels like a 250r on take off now so much bottem end i couldnt believe the difference a k&n filter with this paipe made omg.also it sounds like a mx 450r now.

How are you guys going about making your pipes into shortys? I mean what type of saw, any filing, drilling, what are the steps involved? thanks

you need sawzall permanentmarker drill drillbits new rivets and a grinder of sorts. First : take the muffler off. Second: measure the lenght you want cut off . Third: mark it every 2 inches going around the pipe where you are cutting it off. Fourth: cut it all they way through ,drill out rivets holding the end cap on and move it to new sized muffler .reinstall rivets and your ready to go. i moved my hmf symbol 2 it was riveted also. make sure to leave the packing in there and the core. notes:make a clean cut, leave packing and core in ,core is metal pipe with holes in it inside the cannister, wear safety glassed while doing it, cut off exit end of pipe NOT INLET SIDE , take your time its awesome , enjoy.

looks good man. id like to cut mine but i dont have the tools to do it and im kinda scared of what it would sound/perform like. how is the sound compared to the normal HMF? deeper, snappier? ive heard shorty e-series pipes and they sound really high pitched

shorty that is now sold. i had that pipe k&n filter. whole air box off, 18 inch back tires and jetted and it was pritty powerful. pluse its 10 cc higher than stock and the diffrent clutch made it more turqy cuz of the lightend fly wheel affect diffrent clutches give.

right now im making a 5 inch muffler out of the white bros 5 inch peace i cut off and a stock muffler end cap and im almost done and it looks pritty cool kinda like a chunky tc muffler

i have a pro circuit i was thinking of shortining but i dont know what else i had to do so i never got it done. what else should i do to get a good result. filter? jet? airbox mod? header? tires?

always get suspension mods firstn then youll love your quad start with front shocks pep ,elka, or axis ,you can find good deals on ebay .then axle , then aarms all easy to install yourself. then last engine.
