if you got the tool kit with your quad, there is a socket made for the spark plug that you put in there and you use the allen wrench that comes with the tool set and stick it in the hole and turn until its loose

mint, that is the size that i figured would fit it becasue it was the one size i didnt have in a deep socket. i had a 5/8 and 3/4 but no 11/16. thanks guys. thats a lot better than having to get a special tool.

Nah, the spark plug tool that comes with the kit sucks. I used to use the one that came with my kit until it weakened and no longer would grab the plug anymore. The hex shape of the hole in the tool basically gets rounded out over time because it's made of cheap metal.

After much searching for the right socket (an 18mm deep well thin wall) I found one that works. I went to Sears to find one but they didn't have any thin walled sockets so I found this 18mm made by Allen that works perfect. It's a 12 point socket btw. You can buy this at Home Depot. You can also just grind down the outer edge of a regular 18mm deep well if you have one to spare. It's nice having the right tool in my toolbox now :D
