transfer case took a **** on me

i was heading out to wally world in my dakota earler. cruising along doing about 75-80 on the interstate.....

suddenly my transfer case decides to take a **** on me. it was dark when it happened, so i can't tell exactly what happened yet. something inside of it blew apart, making a hole big enough to fit both of my hands into at the same time:eek2: the entire underside of the truck is covered in gear oil. :rolleyes: :D

tomorrow i plan on pulling it out and seeing exactly what the hell happened. (why it blew :confused: )
i'll try to take some pictures of it:p


anybody know what i can expect to pay for a remanufactured gear case???

i'm thinking in the $500 ballpark. hopefully not much more than that. :eek:

It will be more than that.Probably closer to $800.

Thats a Dodge For ya.....Jk man....my buddy had that happen to his blazer and it cost him 500

You could try and find a used one from a salvage yard.
