for some reason my valve cap broke while i was in the process of taking it off. WHAT SHOULD IT DO?

Man that really sucks! You need an EZ Out to get the broken piece out of the block and maybe you should call your Dealer to see if they have a new cap! That thing must have been tight in there for that to happen. I do recall those things to be real flimsy feeling! Good luck to you!

Just get the piece that broke off out, and buy a new cap. Should be pretty simple.

well the other piece came out pretty easy but however i did notice that a piece of the meatle came out and might have gone into the block. but however i got out the flashlight a couldn't fine the little piece in the block so i think that im in the clear. here is the piece that broke off.
Yup that happened to me not too long ago. Nothin fell in, but the dang cap costed me somethin like 23 bucks!!!!! Gotta be so dam carefull with that cra*.

23 dollars damn thats expensive. i'll have my friends dad make me one out of titanium or something.

Happened to me too. I also broke one of the bolts for the oil filter cover, seems to happen to everyone eventually. I always use an antiseize compond on the threads when I put bolts back in sense the whole engine is aluminum.

yeah but this is the first time i tried to take it off and i bought it new.

i finally got the valve cap it came in to day and i finally got to put the 400 back together and drive it. the valve cap cost $12.?? and the little O-ring cost about $1.50. it feels good to have a working quad again.
