We are going to be building up our sons LT80 over the winter to runn local XC (Harescrambles) and to run a few of the GNCC youth races.

As of now it is a Bone stock 2000 LT80. We are looking for A Arms, good shocks, motor & clutch work, pipe and new wheels and tires. Can you recomend people and companies that can help us and that have the parts for the LT80's.

Also if you have built a LT80, can you list some of the hings you have done to it and how much it may have cost?

Thank you for your help!
Todd

OK here goes. Id first start buy selling it and buying a Kasea. Sorry. The lt80 parts cost to much compared to a kasea. The kasea has the frame geo . and reliablity to boot. There are tons of aftermarket goodies for it also. My son raced the kasea this year in the GNCC and District 6 Pa State harescramble series and had great sucsess. We are currently building two for next years GNCC and D6 races. Im sorry i dont mean to bash the lt80 because we have seen them run really good and handle good but for the bucks and the type of riding your going to be doing i think you would be better of on a kasea. hope this helps. you can always email if you have ANY question on kaseas. thank Eric

i have to agree with you on that we broke 4 motors and a bunch of other stuff thats partly why we got out of racing also.but i had to much invested to buy a kasea.

We XC raced an LT80 for 7 years very succesfully but honestly you can't begin to make the LT near as good as say the Kasea or similar quad. The suspension, engine, not mention ease of working on them. I suggest talking to Rich at Hetrick for his input. Hope this helped!

You got the best in the business working on your LT80. Should be a screamer when Jack is done.

I dont think LT80 has a web page. Did you ever get ahold of him? Well here are a few parts I have gotten so far. LT80 has our engine right now.

ITP wheels will be powder coated Black next weekend along with the frame.

James lucky has a front end kit, it improved handling SO much, I also ran a dura blue axle it handled like it was on rails!

I had works shocks front and rear and ran 18 9.5 8 turf tamers in the rear and I only got stuck once or twice.

I ran maxxis front tires, I think I had 19s in the front.

DG and lrd both make a good pipe, I ran a dg and I was pleased with it.

You can also build a airbox, I wish I got pictures of the one we built. The space in the upper part of the frame will fit a aluminum airbox if you want to run one.

Mikuni offers a awesome carb for them it really opens them up as well with boyseen reeds!

Moving the weights on the clutch makes a world of a differnce as well.

Making them water proof is a challenge, I blew mine up 3-4 times because of k&n open filter and ended up having to make a airbox for it like I sad up above this.

They are awesome quads, Back when I raced they were like the 250r of the minis.

since your in pa you can go with many engine builders. I went with our buddy Butch at b+b enterprises in delaware and he built us a SUPER motor, the power was insane on that little thing. shaved the head, porting as done and it was a 105cc

I built some A arms for a kfx 80. With these A Arms you can get some more travel but need to use a longer shock. Arm's are +5,+1 for 39" wide.

The quad was picked up before I knew how bad the pictures were.

No offense but that looks like too much leverage for the shock you have on it.

Seems like this would make the springs respond differently. Again not trying to be negative, just don't want to see any hurt kids.;)

Looks like the shocks that midwest mini sells. Notice the negative camber.
The arms look good.
Just talked with a guy yesterday, he had a guy build some with adjustments. I'm looking into them.

Negative camber? The shocks are off a predator 90. The plan is to upgrade to Works shocks in the future. With rider The camber is close to 3deg. This Quad is for TT racing.

On the last pic, it seems that the top of the tire is "out" on top.
Correct or just how the pic looks?
In 3 degrees maybe but never out. For TT I'd want it closer to 1 degree IMO.

It's just the picture. The top is in.

Didnt have time to put the LT80 back together this weekend. Got the engine back last week from LT80. I did have time to take off the old rubber foot pegs and weld on some new ones with a kick up on the out side.
