So I gots this 2000 Honda 400ex. Just changed the brakes and was wondering why people get rid of the parking brake...

Is there any reason for doing this?

overtime it causes premature break wear and is uneeded because all you have to do is leave it in gear and you dont really use it anyway and it saves some weight

what he said^^^^ the brakes wear about 3 times faster with it on...

i accedently broke the cable off of the brake cylinder and I was just wondering if I need to get a block off plate.

also it takes off like a pound or two. my break pads need changine every month so if it eats up brake pads 3 times faster with the p brake on im glad i took it off. and having no p break looks better as long as u got a parking break block off plate.

it would probly be best to get one to make sure no dirt gets in the caliper n they only cost like 12 dolars any way and look better.
