what the hell is it? a oil cooler is it made for the 400ex? i know on ebay you can get one that holds a extra quart of oil for cheaper than that.

not sure if the stator would be able to handle that.

Trying to come up with a way to get my 400ex to run cooler.

the sxtra large oil tank they sell on ebay has more surface area and hold more oil that will help make it run cooler. if you got the fan and oil cooler you might haveto get a high out put stator. The large oil tank you just have to hook it up (nuts and blots) no big deal. the other way may create compications. gl let us know if you try the other way.

Mickey Dunlap makes an oil cooler add-on for the 400ex...go to www.fourstroketech.net, you can find it there.

A larger oil tank will help a little (more fresh oil to circulate) but it will not make the engine run cooler. Doesn't matter if you have a 2 quart tank or a 4 quart tank, all that oil is going to be the same temp once the engine gets up to its operating temperature ;) A larger tank will just make the oil take longer to heat up than before.

That fan assisted cooler that Patches posted looks pretty nice if someone could hunt down the plumbing to make it all work. I have a larger oil cooler that is 3X the size of the stock one; drops the operating temp 50 degrees but I had to pay a pretty penny for it. I'm curious as well to see if the stock stator can handle that fan

Maybe you sheela's should ride faster to help cool down the motor with more airflow over the oil cooler and cylinder fins...
