Can anyone help me ID this engine. This came from a home made go cart? that had a quad front end and a quad rear with a swing arm. I know its a honda but I would like to know the size and year. It says six speed on the cover. The front had disk brakes and the rear has disk brakes if that helps. Thanks Dave J.

It could be from a 250r but it looks smaller like a dirtbike engine of a Cr80 or something.

from looking how it stands vertical I would say that it is somesort of dirtbike engine.

Thanks for the replys, It is bigger than a cr80 and I have a block of wood under the front so it didn't fall off the wall. It was mounted in the cart tilting forward a little. This motor is bigger than a blaster motor and around the same size as our big red motor that is a 200es. Would Pics of the front end and rear end and swing arm help??

looks to me either to be a 100 or 150 dirt bike engine... also looks to be a 4 stroke.. if u look closely on the cases under all the cooling fins there should be a badge saying how many cc's there are

the front end looks like a 250ex or 300ex. But it cant be a 250 becase they are shaft driven and i know that it isnt a 300ex. Mabey just a 250x?

if you can find a serial number on the motor, a honda dealer should be able to tell you what motor it is. it looks to me like a 80's xr100 motor. whatever it is, its def a fourstroke

def not a 250 or 300, no way is a 250r or any other 2-stroke cause it has a cam chain tensioner, look on the bootom of the cylinder and it should tell you what cc it is

Thanks guys Great board for help & info. I just put the motor on my kitchen counter and found the numbers on the cylinder between the fins. It says 199ci so must be a 200x or 200ex. Once again thanks.

Just picked it up last night. heavy steel frame, ugly, unsafe welds, no brakes, had all I could do to keep my son from riding it lol so I cut the thing up. Will try to get a frame or make a cart out of it.
