How much horsepower can I expect from a stock crf450?
Then how much can I get out of it with average motormods, (cam, porting, piston valves etc).
Thanks.

CRF450 motorcycle, or CRF450 in a quad? You always loose HP when putting the motor on the quad. (weight of the axle and large tires eat some of the HP usually 10-15%.)

the dirt bike puts out about 53 hp, and not many people mod them past pipes and filters so like 56 maybe

they are quite beasts, I have one in my quad, mine has a tc pipe, 488 kit, ported/polished and the next mod is a reluse auto-cluth.

The CRF bike actually puts out more around 48 when its in stock form..With what you have listed you wont pick up all that much, a CRF bike motor wont see any gains with a CR of over 13:1, the stock valve train is about as light as it will get, so you will gain nothing by bigger or lighter valves, maybe longevity if you go to stainless, but will be heavier then the Ti..Porting maybe 3-4 if its done by someone who knows what they are doing. You may get it up to 53-54 if you are lucky but it wont be some 60HP monster.

For the big numbers buy yourself a CR500. The 450's are great but nothing compares to a big two-stroke in a staight line.

I know Mike Alessis bike puts out 57 hp and thats with a FMF motor work and exhaust... so I'm guessing its around high 40's
