Clutch springs

What clutch springs are you guys using on bigger HP motors?

I put Barnett springs with stock plates in mine. Not a noticable difference but the plates seem to be holding up good.

I use the fmf s.t.m. controlled engine braking clutch (slipper clutch)

it uses washer springs. you would be flat out amazed at what this clutch does. biggest differences are. it actually makes whoops tons easier , and it feels like my top end is better.

I use all this with a hinson basket.

I always use stock clutch packs with the extra fiber, but didnt want to be overlooking the springs. Thanks guys.

u guys put in an extra fiber? what kind of dif does it make ? i've been usin stock w/ no problems

I removed the clutch judder spring and clutch judder spring seat and installed another fiber. works great for me as added grip and with the barnett clutch springs and slipage.

sounds like a GREAT set up, I would absolutely love to have it. Theres only one problem...its 900 BUCKS! Plus the Hinson basket...you have yourself a 1200 dollar clutch. :eek2:

Yeah, what Chad said, you remove the springs, and it takes care of slippage, but it does make feathering a little more touchy but its easy to used to.

in my 465ex I used the hinson works set. which allows more room for an extra fiber. consists of basket, pressure plate, inner hub and new plates . so the slipper clutch isn't all that much money compared.

also I use all hinson plates.


I race pro and seek every bit of advantage I can muster.

ok you retard!!! LOL jk.

beneath all the clutch steels and fibers are two wavy rings that help the clutch slip feel; especially since the stock has problem with the bottom end lug, honda felt it would help the rider feel as though the clutch is slippn when it really isn't (so to speak). These two judder spring rings are closest to the basket. I remove these two rings and the half wide fiber and replace with a full fiber.
