do u guys think that a plastic airbox would hold up. i was thinkin of tryin to make one to put my battery in. i know theres a lot of different aluminum ones around, but i like makin things and thought it would be a pretty cool project. i know the stock box is plastic, but with the added weight of the battery will it hold up? im just lookin for opinions, i may just go ahead and make an aluminun one if its not a good idea and i can find some sheet aluminum.
I wouldn't trust a plastic box if you jump...period.
even the plastic airbox still breaks all the time. I wouldnt trust it either.

i made mine out of lexan it is holding up really good sorry no pics i dont have a digital cam yet:(

have you guys ever thought of clear plexiglass. i think that would be cool. just tell me to shutup if its dumb i dont mind

250rmike thats what mine is only lexan is much tougher than just plain plexiglass lil more $$ to but alot cheaper than buying an alum. box i think i have about $15 in mine :)

thats a good price. the aluminum is probably heavier too.

so u guys r sayin lexan might hold up? whats the difference from a thick plastic? where can i maybe purchase some at? thanks again
isnt the stock airbox plastic?

Yeah but it does not have to hold the wieght of a battery.
