taking off stering stem b/c im getting a new one and i cant figure out what size the nut at the bottom of the stem is. Monkey wrench wont fit either. Need to know so i can get this off. thanks

the only thing we could do is tightly fit a cresent wrench over it so its vertical. there is a whole at the bottom of the cresent wrench, find a small pipe or something to put through it and turn.

It worked for me if we are talking about the same nut.
