I have got a 400ex that i just got from a friend and it handles like crap compared to my last 400ex. It has got fast trekker front tires which are very square... are these tires the culprit? do they suck??

Those tires will make the front end act weird and steer weird due to the flatness of them. I've used them before and they cause more bumpsteer and rougher ride...great for MX tracks though.

I have come to the conclusion that for my application, fast trekker front tires are probably the worst tire you could buy. handeling is awful and you have really got to be careful when riding because the bump steer wi l l send you off into the weeds at 40mph if you dont keep an iron grip on the bars .not a good trail tire .anyone tried turf tamer fronts in a 23x7x10???i dont hear much about these tires on

Just wondering how they handle, traction, steering, etc. i was a little worried because i heard that they were only a 2-ply tire and they may roll the sidewall easily

I had Fast Trekker fronts on my '92 LT250R and the bike was sketchy as a MF'er at 50+mph. Later got a set of ITP's and all was good again.

they are all right but I think they rollover (sidewall flexibility) into corners but what do you expext with a 475# machine?!. They arnt very stiff and provide a pretty smooth ride.good cheap replacement for stockers NOT FOR MX OR ROUGH TRAIL (I mean that they arnt very puncher resistant) we have had no holes yet, though.

You mean 375# for the 400, right?
