I had a LRD full pipe on my 400ex and shortened the silencer 5 1/2". seemed like it made a difference in the bottom and a little louder too...but to the good.

rivets rivet gun and drill thats all and i used a mgic marker and some card board to draw line so go around your pipe measuring the lenght you want to ccut off and mark it every 2 inches till all the way around then cut it. drill the rivets out first then put cap back on and put it all together.

i took the rivets out then pulled all the inside out. then i took a rubber band and put it around the muffler as a marker not to go past. then after i got the 5 inches off with a grinder then u have to cut the inside coar to the right length which would be 5 inches cut off the end of it not the front of it. then put it back together and drill new rivet spots and u got a shorty. sense i sold my shorty im making the stock muffler in to a shorty and modifing the inside so its as good as a porformince pipe but jest dont look like it. this is my first time today driving my 400ex with a stock pipe and i cant stand it. with my shorty i used to have it would take about 1 sec to hit the revlimiter in 1st gear now with the stock one it takes like 5 secs to hit the rev limiter. but soon the stocker will be good as a slip on. i might be combinding to 400ex stock headers to to flow more air. i cant gain enough speed to take the jumps with out noes diving and casing them.

they probly would be better than stock but i seen the dyno it showed a 400ex with 25hp and with the tc it still had 25hp.

for the 400ex...these pipes work better on modified motors...a stock motor with jetting and air filter it really aint going to do nothing for it.

and i used to have a pro circuit t-4 shorty. I hated it. after you shorten them they rivets fall out, the pipe starts to fall appart. It becomes junk. and i did my pipe just like the other guys did theirs.
