its not mandatory, but if you don't port & polish the head you will not see the full performance gains a 440 can give:macho

I would put a heavy duty rod in also. but that requires splitting the cases and $$$. You will really need a full exhaust, a K&N filter would compliment it nicely, no valve springs for the hotcam because it is a drop in cam. HD head studs arent mandatory but you could be regretting it if you dont put them in. A port and polish is by no means manditory, but would compliment it nicely.

We just compltely rebuilt my mtoor from the ground up and hads no issues and we had alot of hours on my quad .;) I also run the same rockers. I was told by my previous builder that the stock ones are considered Hard faced. I just replaced with new stock ones after two years just becuase it was already opened up ,and they still werent that bad .

Im sure having all these things are great to buy ,but its just not fully nessecary

I also ended up having installed the Duncan PC4000 so I havent had issues like some with the head bolts. I did have some wear on my Clutch basket, but the funny thing was its wasnt until AFTER I installed the Barnettt Clutch lol :p So I went back to stock.
