today when i started up my quad 2 hours after the first ride i started it up and a puff of (oil) blue smoke came out what could cause that?:(

are you postitive it was blue? because if it was grey or white it would be fuel burning off. how many times did you kick it over before it started? i dont think the rings can go bad in two hours unless there was not enough oil.

Huh?:huh Gray or white smoke would be valves, and black smoke would be an indication of raw fuel.

is it 04-05 or is it 06 if 06 don,t worry these motors do this alittle. Have sean 4out of 5 CRFX motors smoke right at start up. But that was all you ever saw. Even my CRF did it a little if you got it hot then shut it off,then next start a little smoke. Now if this is older bike with lots of time on it then only to ways in to combustion, rings and valves. If rings it usually smokes all the time, if valve seals then only at start up.:)

The rings are fine. My 330 will puff some smoke on startup. Just let it warm up really good.
