Thats why you don't buy any vehical on ebay that you can't pick up and pay for with cash on the spot. If you buy a bike from someone is Austria, well, thats your fault.

I just bought some stuff off of ebay and used my debit card. WARNING...the person used my numbers and paid for a 10 day vacation in Spain on me, emptying out savings and checking. My bank was the ones to contact me about it. I contacted ebay and they are working with the Feds, the government reimbursed me but I don't get on ebay any more.

I think ebay needs to devise a way to get rid of scammers. They need to create a way that is fool proof. Either that or else they need to be held responsible and do more to catch the criminals.

I think ebay needs to devise a way to get rid of scammers.

They have it...its called Paypal. Your money 100% insured for up to $200, I think. It allows you to pay with a debit card, credit card, bank account, etc.. without giving hte information to the seller. That way, they cant screw you for anymore than what you paid for the item. (which may be insured anyways)

Anytime you buy online, it is better to use a credit card, rather than a debit card. It offers far better protection. You are typically only responsible for the first $50, as far as I know.

Paypal should only say protected up to $175. They say $200 but then charge you a $25 fee for something. So, only $175 back. Just a heads up for everyone.

I would watch out with paypal too. ive been screwed by using paypal and they said i was protected. Everything is so chicken SH** these days it is not even funny. I would go find that ******* and beat him to death. People like that are worthless.

I used paypal and my debit card numbers were still stolen. I don't think the seller was at fault, i think it was a hacker.

how much is covered is dependent on what you buy, automobiles are covered for more (i dont remember how much and i cannot to get to thaqt info off of this goverment computer) there are a lot of scams and for the most part, no one gets any money back.
here is somescam info (http://www.sec.gov/investor/pubs/cyberfraud.htm)
i have some additional links and info to avoid and detect potential scams, as well as links to report scams that i will post tomorrow. i hear all to often of people getting scammed and i hope everyone does a little research on scams before buying a brand new 12grand bike bor 4 or 5 grand. sometimes too good to be true is:ermm:
