what would cause a loss of powerband on a banshee?

a compression loss is probably the problem, 2 strokes need about 120 lbs of air to make combustion

Could be a number of things. Piston, piston rings, bad head gasket, ect.

I would start with the basics.... Take out your reed cages, and inspect your reeds. Those things crumble apart almost once a yr.

How old is the Banshee?

If it has a good amount of ride time on it than its probably time to change the rings. Maybe get a fresh hone and piston.

Just stick a new power band in it. I hear the red ones add the most power ;) ;) :devil

a powerband isnt something u put on its how the power of the engine "comes on" a 400ex and a Banshee have two completely different powerbands. a 400ex is smooth and the banshee powerband is har hitting. a "powerband" isnt something u can replace or put on.

A rubber band works well too!

get some new gas and put it in and see what happens, if nothing, its time to rip it apart and get some new rings and gaskets in ther, should be fine after that, but first before all that check the head bolts cuz they coulda loosed up or somethign

or you just might need a top end rebuild. thats what was wrong with my old dirt bike, had no power, and the power band wouldn't even come on. and all it need was a top end rebuild.
