It seems like all these little shootouts that came out of Nowere are all turning into flame wars.

the cr80 will take u easy. if the person knows how to drive that is. if the person can drive right a stock one in good condition should be able to keep up with or beat a 400 depending on terrain. i have seen it happen so please dont start a flame

the cr80 would take it easy as long as it had a rider good enough to use the power. In fact it would probably be out 400ex's. keep in mind it has about 18-20hp and a blaster has 13 stock and weighs half as much and is much more nimble and a better powerband.

EH, just race these people instead of asking, jebus. You don't actually know unless you do, we could tell you anything. Like a Polaris Trail Blazer 250 can beat a TRX300 4x4, well it can't.

So just race these people!!! Talk is nothing!

who cares, dirt bikes don't run class with 4 wheelas, dirt bikes are design to race other dirt bikes not a 100 pound havier 4 wheela.
80=2 wheels, blaster=4wheels
4 wheels need more power to turn the rear wheels, and the blaster has no power for that heavy *** frame. and the power band just doesn't have that hard hit up top..

have you ever seen a 80 motor in a blaster frame. i havent but i bet it would fly cause i saw a 80 motor in a 250r frame and it was pretty quick for a mini. i smell a prodject coming when i get some money

rip tear actually it can cause i did it  and yes a blaster will get killed by most quads out there today. dont start sounding like a bt or bhq member running their mouths how their stock blaster puts out 89 hp and kills modded banshees up hills and with a pipe they do like 1000. stock blasters make around 15 hp give or take but not 19.

its easy... put any mod u want on the blaster and the cr80 stock and the cr still gonna walk away...

i've read somewhere that a blaster has 18 hp stock, i don't remember where, but i do remember it was a reliable source, otherwise i wouldn't have believed it.

that bike is a little bigger then a regular KX80 (its not small). im 210 bls and that bike pulls me up a hill in 6th gear power band. i can lift the entire bike up with one hand.

06-27-2002, 08:03 PM
i can lift my front end wit one hand, what u all thinka that

i don't think that your stock KX80 will beat a 400EX at all. because that KX80 in the pic wouldn't beat my stock 400EX in a street drag race.

in the dirt theres diff. traction than the street

I don't think the 80 motor would be that great in the blaster. To damn narrow of a powerband. I would love to put a yz/cr125 in a blaster though. RUn the 200 class and you would wail on everyone. I am building a blaster right now using a 79' yz250 engine. The yz is air cooled so it will look absolutly stock. I am using a 34mm keihin of a 250r cause the yz's stock mukuni round slide is a joke. All I need is a shift shaft and too build a pipe.

thast would be a sweet blaster/yz 250

yeah but the quad is going to get more traction no matter what its on. Because the dirtbike only has one wheel driving it. a 125 in a blaster frame would be cool it would be really light. especally if it were bored to a 150 or something.

06-28-2002, 08:35 AM
dude thats not true, i race my kx80 & my 300ex & my friends warrior all the time. my 80 gets more of a grip than the quads. the quads just spin my 80 has only 1 wheel in stead of two so it hooks ^ better! I have beat a 400ex b4 if yall want to argue fine! but i know i have & thats all that matters. a two sroke accelerates faster than a 4 stroke! it was only like a quarter mile that I raced him anyway, in really loose dirt. the ground ur racing on makes a BIG difference.

why dont you just get a yz250 and walk over on around and through every STOCK quad? And yes the yz250 would be STOCK too. Theres nothing to say it would kill everything thats stock and yes a banshee too.

maverick
06-29-2002, 03:03 PM
Blaster would get killed...its a little thing called power to weight ratio.......15-16 hp balster vs 18-20 hp cr80...big weight difference.

no a blaster with a cr80 wouldnt go that fast....small difference in hp

06-30-2002, 12:18 AM
I got to thinkin. I don't know about where you guys are but over hear they alow 250 thumpers to run the blaster class. Shove a yz250f in the little sucker and you would have a kickin machine. I read they are like 34-38 hp!!!!!

250rmike
06-30-2002, 09:41 AM
or shove it in a r fame so you can have good handling and suspension.

Tommy 17
06-30-2002, 10:42 AM
a yz250f is faster they a 400ex... it would be killer in a blaster frame...

a dirtbike can have more traction then a quad if u want it 2... i know people that have 3 differernt tires and rims that they throw on for differnt track conditions... they have a hard, soft and intermetiate tire on rimz so they can hook up in anything... if u have the wrong tire in the wrong condition u won't hook up... i personally like dunlop 752s...

True with quads too though. You look and you got a million chocies for tires, wheels, all that crap.

I race a kx 100 with my 400ex and for the top speed we were side by side but in a drag race I was in front.

and by the way I have 18 inches rear tires
