400 idles but does not rev. Jetting is fine. Bout to part the frekin thing

Okay this POS quad is getting me so frekin pissed. I just put in the CRF450 timing chain and im pretty sure the jetting is perfect. It only idles, any attempt at touching the throttle and it dies. Runs on basically any jetting like no airboot no exhaust or stock exhaust and airfilter 180 main 160 main w/e
I have 38 pilot. it is not the jetting.

try a 42 pilot and maybe two and a half turns out on your air/fuel screw

and try the 3rd clip on the needle

it would run if it was that close of jetting. That would be making it more rich. I need to lean it out

It is the jetting what do you have in a 180 or 160 main?

Sometimes you have to lower one and raise the other.

But for now give me exactly what you are running!

are ya sure you have your cam in correctly? what swingarm does that machine have on it and what do you want for the whole thing?

moto tech +1.25 swingarm with 2 shock mounts LSR carrier GT thunder rear shock LSR front arms and 450r front shocks...

im almost positive its all correc. I lined up 2 lines on cam and put the "Out" on the outside

are you sure it was a top dead center?did you take that bolt off of the sidecase to line up the marks with the flywheel?

Could a little bit of slack throw off the timing? The adjuster is all the way out. I think i need a manual one.

A little bit of slack will cause your timing chain to jump off the sprocket and into a bad time.

its not that loose. Just enough for the cam to ohave play back and forth of a 1/4 inch. Its a new stock CRF450 cam chain.

I think that is still to much,all of my timing chains are TIGHT,i can barely move them a 16th

can this in any way cause the motor to not do anythign but idle? im lost

might sound kinda dumb but, mine was running like a peice until i adjusted my valves, it is easily overlooked, mine had dead spots all in the throttle...
