just posting here, cause my last 465 thread i didnt get a single reply:o .

I Bought a 465 bottom end, but i would like to know before i assemble it, what comp ratio piston to get so i DONT have to run race gas. Or if i should junk that crank and get a stocker to build a 416

Aye 91 is all you can get in KC too. 91 is borderline with 11:1 on my 330ex. If it's really hot out, I'll usually have to mix in about 10% VP Red so it wont detonate.

11:1 is the safe bet.

12:1 IMHO is too high for an air cooled motor. It's fine on 450r, yzf, z400 water cooled motors, but the air cooled run to hot for 12:1 w/o race fuel.

mine is je 10.8:1 and I had to mix it with vp red and 93. with just 93 it was a detonation nitemare. but I was told that I also have thin gaskets and a timing advance.... just finding this out now.

i run 11:1 on my warrior, 12:1 on my raptor on 93, but i should mix a little vp in with the 93 for the raptor...

I'll probably run 11:1 we dont get 91 up here really, its hard to find that, lol. We usually have 93 and i can get 94 no problem.

The way he was telling me this, is that i need that bottom end then a 425 piston...sound correct?
