Ok, we need a little more information.

Like, why in the blue blazes do you want to put a 250r swinger on a 400EX?

I destroyed my stock 400ex swinger jumping down hill, into about 90 pieces.

I have a stock 250r swinger and it seems to me, to be a little stronger constructed, and I haven't heard of anyone that has had one break the way the 400ex swingers break on the chain side.

It looks like I may need a spacer on the right side ( brake side) between the engine and the bearing surface (pivot area) and maybe remove some metal between the shock mount for for the "wish bone" thingy that the shock works with.

Does anyone know which bearings I need to use and or pivot bolt?
I don't have my stock one off yet, to check fit and what not, just wondering if anyone has tried this yet and has had success or if it doesn't work at all or what goes on.

bottom line, trying to save a little money, If I have to put a little time into it thats fine. I have all the tools needed, just not real sure if it will work.

A better alternative:

Sell the 250R swinger and buy a used aftermarket 400ex swinger.

bottom line, I want an aftermart swinger or one stronger than a stock 400ex.

Service honda:
88-89 250r swinger $294.65

after market 400ex swinger approx. $500.00

(unless some knows of some cheaper)

Make me a decent offer, bottom line, I need to get a strong swinger for my quad.

any help is welcome....

Thanks guys
Jeff

oh yea, the stock 250r swinger is in perfect shape with a brand new light grey powder coating on it, not a mark on it.
powder coating was done by me here at work.

if you put the 250r swinger for sale on Ebay you can buy a stock swinger for about $100,00 or less. And if you be real nice santa claus might, never show up but it will give you time to save up and get a better one. At least the stocker will mostly work. but keep it on the ground lol
