I have the hrc kit, wondering how far out to turn the air screw @ the bottom of the carb?

oh yeah, i'm in wisconsin. it's about 55 degrees right now, does that matter? Should I adjust it for cold weather?

My problem is that when the motor is warming up it sounds like I am loading up the carb, I think I can get more power out of it. I also have a hard time starting it. Valves are perfect. No wear on the lobes either.

start the bike let it run till it is warm. shut it off. turn the screw all the way in very slow. then turn it back out counting the # of turns when you get to 2 turn start the motor let it idle. keep turning the screw out slowly( keeping track of the amount of turns) untill the motor sound like rough idle, then turn it back in slowly untill it idles smooth.
if you end up turning it out more than 2 3/4 turns get a 50 piolet jet, and then start this process over again.

take your time and it will be dead on.
good luck
