my dad has a megamax fmf pipe on his 300ex and he absolutely hates it. it seems to have more low-end then the stocker but absolutely falls on its face on topend and it sounds like crap. yes the quad was rejetted when we originally put the pipe on. the header pipe looks like its decent (diameter over stock) so we were thinking maybe keeping the header pipe and putting a different slipon on the quad. has anyone else done this the the megamax header? what slipon did you use? what kinda powergains? pictures? we were thinking maybe using the fmf header with a hmf slipon but i am unsure if they line up or not.

Get a HMF slip-on. You wont regret it..

I've seen someone on here, that has the megamax header with the HMF slip on, so it can be done.

Is this a dg head pipe that I have? I have seen dg's and they don't look like mine. They arn't as straight back as mine. Is mine a dg? It has a dg muffler on it. This was on my bike when I bought it.

White Brothers E series...theres not real way to be positive on the fit but if the exhaust comes in a slip on form then it should match up unless the headpipe you have now is different from stock...but if you have carbon build up in the headpipe u might just think about replacing it anyways

Well, let me be the first to tell you. There is a way to fit an HMF onto a Megamax header, but it involves a lot of cutting and welding. My advice is DO NOT try it, it doesnt work good at all. I used to have a megamax, trust me, its worth the money to go out and buy a Curtis Sparks full system. It is the best pipe hands down for a 300ex. And it will give you tons of power over the megamax. I sold the FMF and bought the Sparks, and I couldnt be happier.

Yeah I don't know why the header is so long. It seems to work half decent though. I don't know if there is any benifit of the pipe going straight for a bit before it makes the bend or what but after the bend it's straight out.
