I noticed a few weeks ago that my 2005 ex pilot screw was kinda tamper proof . the 2005 screw is a circle shape with 1/3 cut off like a d shape.

sorry about that last picture size!!. I took a t.v antenna and cut it down in size to make a tool to remove the screw. After it was cut down to about 1 1/2" I used needle nose pliers and had one half inside the tube and the other on the outside and squized together. This gave me the perfect shape. the to make it easire to grasp I slid a hose over it and pinched the other end of the tool over for a handle. I called the local dealer and ordered a pilot screw for 99-04" 400ex's p/n 16016-hm5-730 and installed it. wow what a differance I was running a little rich here at 2400ft.

the new dyno jet kits come with a special tool to adjust the 2005 carbs. no need to buy anything extra. :D
