does anyone know if an 88 honda 250R coil will work on a 92 300ex? thanks in advance

I suspect not because they use different plugs. You could luck out and it work but there is a risk in trying.

The 250R uses a BPR7ES and the 300ex uses a DR8ES.

The 250R plug is hotter... Trying it and running it for very long on a 300ex could burn a hole in your piston...

That's right around when the 250x switched to the 300ex.
