alright so i'm thinking about trading in my 400EX for a big bore........ so i wanna keep some sportiness.....

I was gonna go with the grizz, but they have the least rear wheel horsepower out of all the bigbores.........
So out of the grizz660, KQ700,P700 which one would you guys get???? i wanna use it for trails, riding river/ light to moderate mud..... climb hills/technical stuff, and just screw around on our farm and maybe some farm work.........
I don't wanna spend much over what the grizz is cause its already gonna break the bank, but am open to spending a little more........

Also for some of you grizz owners how does it compete verse the other bigbores and are there big gains for simple mods like pipe and filters???????

Thanks

I wouldn't base the decision on HP numbers alone. All three are very good. I have been around the Grizz and KQ700 enough to know both are extremely capable but I give the nod to the King Quad, it is like a newer, refined Grizzly.

The Prairie is nice--need to decide if you want a solid vs IRS rear. The solid rear will slide easier and but the IRS will ride better in rough stuff like rocks. I did not like the Kawasaki diff lock lever, I like the Grizz/King Quad setups better.

When I was looking for a ute I wanted a Rincon but got sticker shock when I went to buy one. They ride and handle very nice but at how much they cost it is no where near worth it verses what the other manufacturers offer at a much lower price. Plus, lets face it; it is a dog.

i would get the new 06 rincon. fuel injection, revalved shocks, and 675 cc are gonna make it better this year.

For me, the Rincon has great power, and im a pure Honda man. So thats what i would get. The BF 750 i think has too much power for the size of it. If i was you i would have got the Prarie 700. My buddy owns one and it has great power in 2 and 4 wheel drive. Sounds like a jet when it revs up and goes down the road because of the v-twin engine. It also was the ATv 4x4 of the year in Dirtwheels mag for 2005.

bomb 800 max is the only choice.

Ride all that you can and see what you like the best.
The Honda needs a lower first gear (if you want to run larger
tires) But they are reliable. The pullthireass and bomb 800
have reliability issues from what I have read and experienced
I like the grizz and the kq

This is only my opinion,

Cheers, Cy

Too much power? What is that?

I think he made a good choice if he wants an IRS machine. I also prefer the P700, but that is just me. I lean more toward the racer utes, and have no intrest in big tires and deep mud. To each their own, as long as your having fun!:p

BTW, there is a guy that posts on here with a BF750 racer that is really sweet. Can't recall his name at the moment.

I read back and saw this. I ran my grizz against several other big bores and put up more power. At mobile dyno I beat out Rincons, 700 Twinpeaks, KQ's, 700 Polaris', etc...pretty much everything we ran it against in the 600-700 range it was beating it...and those are all twins vs. a single...except for the KQ I believe....

Anyhow...the grizz is not the weakest big bore on the market. That's the Rincon's place.

As far as mudding goes I put the King Quad on the bottom and the Rincon right above it. Those are my bottom two for mud.

If I was to get a big bore utility atv right now it would either be the Prairie 700 or the Grizzly 660. JMO

The Grizz is obsolete for anything but mud. The King is basically an updated Grizz improved in every way except ground clearance. If you think you need a Grizz and do something other than ride pure mud, scratch out "Grizz" and write in "King Quad." Look at them--Yamaha should sue for patent infringement.

BTW there is one of each in my garage so I am more than qualified to say this.

That King Quad does look pretty darn good in black! Looks I need to do some homework on this atv. :D

I have seen the KQ in the mud and it is not anything special with big tires in deep mud. All the ones I have seen and rode did was bog down. I have yet to ride a KQ that doesn't have that weak low end...

the polaris used to be a great choice, but now, others have said it and ill repeat it, everyone makes a better sportsman than polaris.
take all the rear suspension components from a sportsman, and lay them out on a bench.
you know the really cool RED parts. take em all off, and lay them out.
Now, take all of the corresponding rear suspension components off a BRP OUTLANDER 800.
Hmmmm, lets see. there's 2 trailing arms.... versus all those great red parts. you know, the 2 upper control arms, the 2 lower control arms, and the corresponding 8 pivot points where they mount to the frame,...

well out of your choices...kingquad....my choice brute force..they are so much more powerful

I mentioned the P700 earlier, but ended up buying a 660 Grizz for the main reason being the cushy ride of their IFS, AND the Ultramatic belt drive that doesn't smoke belts nearly as easily as it's compitition as the belt is always tight.
