Alot of guys that race XC use a linkless system. I like the progressive rate that the link gives you. You should get a linkage set-up and get one of durablues lowering struts (it replaces part of the linkage) so that you can adjust you ride hight.

J/W mano, but why are you choosing to go link-less?

i think some one told me you can get more wheel travel with a linkless rear

That doesnt make any sence, you can run a longer shock with linkage. It is like having a dual rate shock, but you only need a single rate spring. As the shock compresses it changes the angle, causing the shock harder to compress.

i don't know i think that is what i was told but i might be wrong but it was recomended to me so i might do it..

Suspension travel does not necessarely change if you go linkless, since it's up to where the swingarm has the new shock attachment point. KTM does very well against the linkage fitted BIG FOUR in motocross competition, so it's obvious that it CAN be made to work just as smooth. GNCC and sometimes Baja racers use a linkless suspension for extra clearance: less stuff hanging down in harm's way banging rocks and roots, and for less parts=less complication.:D

using a londeg shock with alot of sag to keep the rear end work could make more wheel travel
