Does anybody know what the maximum age is to get a Pit's ears cropped, and how much it will cost? Mine's 13 weeks, I've heard you can only get it at 12 weeks, but some people say that it doesn't matter, they will do it any time.

It's most likely cheaper out your way, the place I am getting my doberman's ears cropped at is about 150.

I think the max is 4 months, you can call them and they will be able to tell you

Most people crop the ears so when the dog is fighting the other dog doesnt have anything grab:rolleyes: so Iliketogofast do you fight your dog?:grr:

Your a dumb *****. I had my great danes ears cropped. There are dogs out there that haved cropped ears that dont fight (like 99.5%) :scary:

I won't let him fight, he is too little and he'll get killed. But I want them cropped because A. It looks good and B. In case he does get into a fight I don't want them ripped off.

Yea I was wrong. Your so smart. Myself and everyone else with a cropped eared dog uses them for fighting. Every one with a dane and cropped ears fights them. I have never heard of any great danes used for fighting and majority has cropped ears. Most people dont fight their pits. You hear about the 1% that does. What the remaining 50% with cropped ears that DONT fight. You need to do a little more homework son.

actually honda400exrox is right...it originated with people croping their ears for fighting reasons so they wouldnt get ripped off. Now people crop them mostly for looks. I think a pit with cropped ears looks f-ing mean.....

and btw this is my recent puppy...that pic was when she was about 7 weeks old

i was not tryin to start a war. i just wondered why they want to crop them. my 2 have full ears and look pretty mean, most people are scared to go around them but my wife, boys and i can do anything to both dogs but, i would not advise anyone to grab any of us if you know what i mean. tc your male looks almost identical to my female

My dad did all 21 of ours after 3 months.Does them all himself.Actually I cant rembmer of anytime him bringning them to the vet for anything,he gives all the shots himself..but anyway.I'd wait for about 12 weeks.

Over here on the westcoast i looked into doing it for my APBT and they wanted $300, they said 9-12 weeks....any further faces a CHANCE of the ears collapsing...how big the chance is i don't know but that's what he told me. And yes that's why they started cropping the ears but the actual fighters will just take a razor blade and straight cut the dogs ears off to a nub, not waste the money on cropping....And TCracin is your dog a mix? 'Cause in the pic he looks fairly tall and if he truly is 105-115lbs and is tall then he prolly is mixed casue majority of the heavy weights are short. 100+ is BIG for a APBT.
