250x not running

Well, when i kick my 250x over, you can tell it dont want to start just from the way it doesnt do any thing. i havent checked the spark yet, but when i get her pulled around to pop start it, it runs fine, but if it stalls, your done, might as well give up. I did change the main jet on the carb. where the carbs attaches to the air box hose thing, the airbox boot does not go the whole way around the carb. It falls slightly off on the bottom. please help me, i would rather not take it to a shop if i dont have to. I will never be mean or any thing to any one who helps me!!!! ok i got it pop started and i just held it darn near wide open for a while back in the woods, i tried to keep the revs high. I then got back and it idled and i shut it down and it started right back up with half choke??? idk whats wrong.

well if it runs fine on half choke then its getting to much air. u need more fuel in your mixture.

after it starts, it will run good with no choke

i talked to my uncle and he said it happened to his 300ex, and he sayd he adjusted the valves and it was fine. is this whats the matter with mine

No, I would say your valves are ok. Like rooster said, it's getting to much air. Fix the boot around the carb and you should be good to go. They will run crappy if that boot is off the carb the least little bit.
