Hey I need to know what would be the best out of 22-11-8 8 paddle xtremes or the same but in a 6 or 7 paddle. this would be for a well built 416ex (je 416 piston, hotcam stage 2, fcr 39, porting, etc...) with a +4 swingarm. I like to mostly do hill climbing and sum racing/jumpin. I just know I need a 22-11-8 tire and a extreme kind cause the regular haulers rip too much and the 22" gives me ground clearance for those rutted treeshots. I heard that if I lean forward goin up hills the 8 paddle should work fine cause it will make it spin more. If it matters I have 22" sandstars on front... and I ride oregon dunes...
thanx

Go with the 8 paddles. Are you sure you want the 22's and not the 20's. So you live in Corn Valley, Oregon lol. I'm in Stayton.

Yeah I have 20's rightnow and I hate it when my friend with the 22's can make rutted hills and I cant because I always drag bottom. I need more clearance. And no skid if you're wondering... I am startin the honestly think that 22-11-8 8paddle extremes would be too much, a 6 or 7 paddle would be ok. I dunno though, that's why i'm askin.... do you have aim woof and what local forums are ya on??

I switched from a 20x10x10 8 paddle to a 22x11x8 6 paddle extreme at the beginning of the summer and LOVE them. The bike climbs the hills, especially the tree shots much better and I think it actually is faster on the top end as well.

I think you'll be happier with less then 8 paddles. The 400 I have is set up similar to yours - 425, ported & polished, cam, FCR, and a +3 swinger

z400, i am really proud of you for being able to pull any hill with your 8 paddle haulers... congrats man... im impressed... however, there is a difference between being able to climb a hill, and being able to climb it well... i'm sure there are hills you climb in 2nd that i can climb in 4th... the point is, if you dont have tons of power the 8s are gunna bog you down, and yes the 6s will have more top end as you will be able to spind and get em going better... traction is great but it reaches a point depending on your bike that it works against you... i dont think you neccessarily need the 8s, and they could work against you, so why not get somn a little less...

Well said 250r4life

I too wasn't sure that less paddle could be more but one of my buddies had 22x11x8 7 paddle extremes on his YFZ and I was amazed at how well the bike ran on the hills and draggin. Knowing that my 400 didn't have the power his YFZ did I opted for the 6 paddle extremes and couldn't be happier. Plus there is a big difference between 22" & 20".

z400roosteR......might as well run knobies ...You say a well built 416...with all that ****? I have a 400 piped jets K&n and i run 20x10's 8 paddle and pull ANY oregon hill or dune i have ever ran into.

I sure would like to play a game of lets go find hill climbs with you..I pretty sure I can find some that you'd never be able to make it out on your 400

we know we know... we saw it on your first post of this subject... i wouldnt go off talking too much mess when you have a 400ex... and in your profile it says you have the 7 paddle haulers, so why are you asking if you should get them?

All i said was i could climb any hill *I* have ever ran into, so with my own riding experiences which isn't much but through (winchester, coos bay, and florence) the dunes i have riden at. There haven't been any hills yet that i couldn't climb. No need to jump down my throat.....
And a Q for oregon duners......anyone been to christmas dunes or something like that? Any good compared the the National Dune Area...etc. dunes?

Christmas Valley Dunes are real nice this time of year, in the summer time it is too dusty. There are some photos of CV in the photo area on my site, link is in sig.

250r4life- Why are you even in this topic???you dont even know what you're talking about. I never asked you if you could beat me or run a 8 paddle hauler. actually I can because I was running those before the 7p extremes.. If you are having some anger issues then that's what counselors. If you aren't getting any from the wife or gf then I don't know what to say but do it manually. whatever it is pleez just go away unless you have something good to say. If it makes you feel good that you can talk trash on a public forum then I realy feel sorry for you. I just dont appreciate it when people have to be jack*****es when there's no need to be.:huh

1- youre the one that said "duh," which shows a complete lack of respect. i'm assuming youre a little high school punk, and back in high school nobody would have talked to me like that. you say somn stupid to me like that back in high school and i woulda put your nose through the back of your head... you think i have anger problems now, you shoulda seen me then... but dont go and say "duh" to me like im stupid and expect not to get a reaction...
2- youre the one started talking like you had some bad bike when you were talking to z400, saying "i bet i could climb hills you couldnt, and oh, lets just say i have a lot more done to my bike than what my sig says, lets just keep it at that" like you have some bad ***** bike or something. dude, youve got a 400ex man, even look at the other paddle forum in this section and the guy has a 400ex and clowns on it saying he will one day get a real bike... so dont go acting hard when you have a gay 400ex... 3- i dont know what im talking about? right, youre asking the questions and im giving the answers, and i dont know what im talking about... hmm... son youre out of your league when it comes to intelligence

ps- again, i didnt start this crap, youre the one that said "duh" like a little punk
