Well i picked up a 13 tooth this week and im gettin ready to throw it on. What do i do to compensate for chain slack when it goes on? tighten it up or remove a link?

yes just pull the shifter off and everything will come right off with no problem. the chain will tighten up just fine.

I use 13-37 to 14-39 with just adjusting chain slack with rear carrier. The shift lever has to come off. There is a dot on the shaft to line up on the lever. Watch where the dot is on shaft.
