im thinking about putting a 450r carb on my 400ex and have been searching but cant find out what they do with the throttle postioning sensor wires. i heard that it wouldnt work right witout it hooked up.

on my buddies we just taped it up to keep mud out of it, not pluged into anything and still works great.

how much better is the R carb from stock? Worth the money spent over any other performance item?

IMO you don't need a big carb till you get big motor... not saying it wouldn't help but that money could go towards some porting or somethin of that nature ;) ...

I would have to agree mostly on that ^^^ ;) Im sure ther eis some benifeits but enhancing the motor with a few mods will wake it up as well. I am very pleased with it

The throttle position sensor just gives feedback to the ignition system on a 450r to optimize the timing. It won't change anything if you leave it unplugged; the carb will work the same.
