I just got my new black shiny maier plastic for my 300ex. I can't figure out how to mount the support wire on the rear fender. Could anyone tell me how to do it or if I need it on there.

yea you need it if you dont put it on there it wobles around and flaps in the wind. on the seat it still mounts where it did when stock but you might have to do some bending here and there. all you do to the fender is drill 2 3/8 inch holes where you have lined up the wire and brackets that come with it then just put the screws and nuts on it and your set.

so am I supposed to just have two screws going through the fenders? Wouldn't that look kind of bad?

yep they'll go right through the fender. i thought that it would look bad too but you really dont notice em unless your looking for them and theyre real shiney so it looks good. just dont let them get rusty. give em a blast of WD-40 every now and then.
