Here in Indiana a local fuel supplier has started marketing a new alternative fuel called E-85, which is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. I have never read much on running alcohol fuel but was curious as to what carb mods need to be done to run this renewable resource. It is rated at 100 octane on pump and they warn that only certain vehicles are compatible to run this fuel. I know that alcohol burns cooler but didnt know what it would do to carb parts, especially rubber parts. Also it is 40 cents per gallon cheaper but in cars they say it will get less mpg than straight unleaded from what I have read. Any thoughts or alky burners experiences greatly appreciated. Thanks in advamce
