Thanks fellas....all I had to buy was my front end, exhaust, killswitch, bumper, e-brake block-off, and have my rear shock rebuilt. Everything else was transplanted from the '04 :D

i love that 06! u didnt waste any time making it race ready

I read in another thread that u have a 14t.. how is it working for u?

The 14t works good for MX. I can still pull 2nd gear starts with ease. I think it pulls better for my style of riding because it just keeps pulling hard in the higher RPMs especially after doing the wire mod to let it rev to 10,850....and it pulls the whole way.

Still needs more thump though, hopefully throw in the HRC cam in a couple of weeks, toyko mods jetting, port the head, and lighten the flywheel.....

Is it worth the money for the 06' in stock form compared to the 05'. because if not i will get a another 05' brand new. Xc bikes take a beating.

The '06 is faster than the 04/05 bikes in stock form, or at least in my experience in the few weeks I've had mine. I beat almost every TRX or YFZ that was just piped/jetted in drag races at the sand dunes.

The e-start would be handy for XC but so far, my '06 has been a ***** to start when you stall it out. I think its due to the jetting not being perfect since I just swapped out the main jet.

NICE!!!!!!:D I don,t even know when I will get mine here in canada, and your racing yours, lol....

PS; what is the stock pilot size in the 06 is it a 45

Think its a 48.

10-28-2005, 12:05 PM
Im pretty sure the stock pilot is 42

You are right.

42 - pilot
120 - main

I've raced 2 so far and yes they do get me 3rd and part of 4th, but I take them on top

Now I have yet to try one that has the wire mod, that will probly have a better chance of staynig in front.

We raced on the road so there was no second gear starts for either of us.

Were they completely stock? Your bike should definitely take 'em if they're all stock and even with an exhaust. But I bet after a cam swap, the '06 should take you....

The wire mod shouldnt make much of a difference. The '06 already revs to 9850, which is way higher than stock on '04 and '05. That is unless you have a ignition or box on your bike?

Im still under warrenty, so I cant change that yet :)

in 08 when my warrenty is up im going through the whole motor. then I wan to do the crf ignition swap as well as port the head and bump the compression.

Then I should have a ripper.

Whos the #20 kid with the DFR # plates?? Man DFR is slowly makin its way around the country. That little kid on the YFZ I guarantee is quick, for some reason, little kids and MX YFZs are always pretty quick.
