I took the holeshot then not even a quarter of the way through the first set of woods i bent a tie rod and was struggling to keep it between the trees. then i fixed it. but on the 2nd lap bent it even worse and blew the tire off the beed. the worst race of my life that i completed, and i was shooting to catch the pros like i did in waukon.

At least you didn't break your frame in three spots 60 seconds into the race. After going through the scoring tent I pushed it to hard through the corner and with all the dust, I meet the fence post. Fence post won.

Jake you racing this weekend in Morrison?

I'll be getting a new frame....that the nice part about owning a cannondale. People are always parting them out, so parts are relatively cheap.

The Oklahoma race isn't until the 19th, you can fix whatever you break by then.

jaywoodsrider you going to be there tomorrow?

Try to tell my dad that oh well. I think i have proved how competitive i can be with the pros. I hope for a top 5 finsh next year. plus if i break my leg that wont heal, it could happen, me and this other guy are tied for first and i need too finish in front of him at oklahoma.

I'll see you on the 10th at the banquet.

It was a fun last race. I was on Larry's butt after the 2nd lap, just no good spots to pass. I had to wait for him to make a mistake and it finally happened on the last lap.

Jake should be at the banquet, too.

BTW, Jake, you should do fine in the pro class next year.

I didn't hear Lunde was switching to bike, but it wouldn't surprise me. Did you hear he put his quad in the creek at the race?

Also Ryan Smith (the other Ryan Smith) mentioned he may ride bikes next year too.

this is a bunch of crap. i was hoping to race these guys next year. I have heard demay say it was too expensive too race quad. They need to start riding honda then because i havent hardly spent any money on my quad except for gas. the entry fees are going to be the same mabey even more.

Yeah, we can't afford to loose quad racers. Turnout is low compared to bikes

I am trying to persuade Lunde to stay in the quads. Notice that the guys with Yamahas are wanting to switch. Maybe they will have more fun if they race a Honda - he he. I will let you guys know that I will still be there next year. I am saying goodbye to the GNCCs.

You guys are right, we do need more quad riders to build up the numbers. So, I say to just persuade all of your friends to race the OMA. We may have more next year since there has been some magazine coverage.

Good luck to all at OK. I would go but I don't want to drive the 17hours one way & spend a buttload of cash on gas.

Yeah Zim, let us know how you did overall?

Jake the banquet is the 12/10/05 or 12/11/05...whichever of those dates is a Sunday. The banquet is in Fulton, IL at the bowling alley. There is suppose to be riding at the bike barn before the dinner. Dinner starts around 4:00 I believe.

Thanks. My dad knew before I did this isn't right. but Zim what team were you on during the 12 hours?

RobZ_450R
11-11-2005, 06:07 AM
You are correct. I am going to stop running the full GNCC series. I will run the close ones to home though. There are multiple reasons:
1. Too many people racing - lappers don't respect the faster riders & let them pass.
2. I am getting burnt out from driving FL, GA, SC, NC(2), NY. I would rather ride than drive.
3. If you don't have your crap ready at sign up you get yelled at.
4. Too many people = greater chance for more morons causing bottlenecks.
5. I want to do more rec riding.
6. Getting married on May 6th (preparation & long honeymoon:D)
7. I would have stopped racing altoghether if it wasn't for my bad a** sponsors helping me out.

Details on Banquet From Darcy:

Dec 10... Banquet Hall....Fulton, IL
Playdate 'til 3 pm... banquet hall opens @ 4.. banquet begins @ 5pm

12 Hours:
I raced with Todd Krupinski & Eric Lemley(Owner of Hillbilly Racing). Our team name was the Red Racers in the Industry Class. We finished 1st in class (Lapped 2nd place 8 times) & 7th overall. I think we should have ran pro & collected some cash since only 4 pro teams beat us & 2 A teams. The guys I ran with were right about the same speed as me - I did collect the fastest lap time of our team though.
