I am installing a new clutch kit in a 1999 400ex and this is my first time and I have done everything up to putting the case cover back on and filling it with oil. I am wondering where I fill the case up with oil and how much oil to use because I dont have the manual. Can I do it through the oil reserve? Thanks.

Btw i have it all apart right now so answeres ASAP woudl be greatly appreciated. :)

The only place you fill the oil up from is the oil tank itself. Make sure the oil is drained from the crankcase and the oil tank, then you can fill it up with 1.8 quarts.

Don't know where you guys are getting 1.8 from, but my manual says 1.95 quarts. 2 quarts usually does fine. It's even more when the motor has been fully disassembled, but since you only pulled the clutch cover go with close to 2 quarts.

1.85 liters or 1.95 quarts

After engine disassembly 2.2 liters or 2.3 quarts

You have never changed the oil and your replacing your clutch:eek2: You fill up the oil in the oil tank. About 2 quarts does it.
