instaling nerf bars

i just bought some dg alloy nerfs for 300ex and on the front i have to drill holes. does the u bolt go in from the bottom or top. do i have to grind in to the skid plate. i have aftermarket skids. help. thanks

Ummm, when I got my DG Nerfs that part confused me too! But, I think the U shape thing goes on bottom, like with the curve (U) facing down like "U". Thats how mine went on my 400ex...

i have a aftermarket skid so will i have to grind a slot in the bottom of the skid. thanks
