I have a spare 250R rear shock that my friend with a 89 Yamaha Blaster is wanting to buy to install on his quad. What do you fabricate to mount this shock on his blaster? I heard you have to run spacers but want to be sure before I sell it to him. Thanks. Tom

well one thing u would have to do first is see how long the shock is. u would probly have to make the top shock mount up higher or buy it a lowering kit cuz i think the 250 shock would be longer than the blaster shock

Any other input? I have heard it is a direct bolt on with using spacers, anyone want to chime in?

i think its 1/2 " washers(stainless)
for the mounts, put it on and put washers to fill
any voids.

there are three lengths 250r shocks

'83 13"
'84 14"
'85-'89 16 3/8"(this is the one you need)

You want to use a 87-89trx250 shock for the blaster. The reason for this is the rezzy hose is longer and you can find a place to mount it. On older models there is no where to mount the rezzy because of the hose lennth. The upper mount bolts right in if you remove the inner part of the bushing and do just a little grinding on the top of the shock, the bottom you can enlarge the mounting hole to take the appropriate size bolt.
