well stock they are all around but you could revalve and resring them for the type of riding you need them for

they're a general shock built for all weights and types of riders and conditions. If you sent them of to Derisi he would triple rate them, revalve and respring them, to your weight, riding style, and bike. They could be made for MX or XC at that point. but even if you don't do that they're still an amazing upgrade to stock 400ex shocks
