My Scrambler 500 experience

One of my buddies has a Scrambler 500. Well i threw a leg over it and was puttin around just havin a good time and one of my other friends said i wouldnt believe how fast it was in reverse. Like an idiot i held in the reverse overide button and gunned it. I got goin so fast that i didnt know how to stop. I pulled in the brake and i must have turned the bars also cuz it flipped backwards before i could drop the f-bomb. Scariest thing i ever did. When i hit the ground i rolled as fast as i could. Iwas very lucky i didnt get hurt. so my question is...What in the hell is the point of a reverse override??? ITS DANGEROUS!

I bought my dad a Trailblazer to putz around on a couple years ago. He didnt have ramps so he backed his truck up to a smaller hill off the side of his driveway to unload it and hit the reverse override button. Of course he lost control and hit my aunts brand new Lincoln in the passenger side door with the rear grab bar, caving the sucker in. Ouch. Funny stuff.

just bogs the motor down without the override. its actually a "safety" feature so that people know that the power will be coming and it isnt right there when they smash the gas in reverse. but in your case, heh.

this reminds me of the time i dragged my uncles polaris 700. all lined up in the field and i signaled to go and he smashed the gas and went over the bars because he left the hog in reverse. haha funniest thing ive ever seen.:p so now i can say i beat a 700 in a drag race :o

scrambers are fun as hell in the snow/ice, gonig fast in reverse and then whiping the front end around. i wish i had pics of me doing reverse wheelie's.

It felt like gettin body slammed by a 600 lb gorilla. But as soon as my skinny *** hit the ground i was rollin like a bolwin ball there was no way i was gonna let that thing land on me.

i had a freind with a scrambler 400 4x4. he would stand on the front bumper, put it in 4x4 and reverse and ride a reverse wheelie on the front wheels, it was funny lookin
