I am thinking about purchasing the Edelbrock Quiksilver carb for my 400ex. Does anyone have this or any other aftermarket carb? Was it worth the money?

JHALLETEX have you ever ran a edelbrock carb on your 400ex? If so what was your problems with it? If not how do you know it's not worth he money? Thanks for your time.

I got the FCR and really like it. I am sure that the Edelbrock is worth the money and you should see big improvements.

The quick silver is an intriguing setup, no jets, no fuss, no muss. Supposed to be fully adjustable externally. I just wonder if anyone has put this thing to the test & has anything to say about them??

I've got one. Unfortunatly I put it on the same time I went to 440.

I love the easy adjustments.

You really need to go with a twist throttle though, the accelerator pump has 2 springs on it, plus the big spring on the side of the slide make it stiff. Already tried shaving the sides of the springs to loosen her up, didnt work.

two your having the same thing happing to you send it back
your boot on the side is black right or is it the brown ?
if its the black you have a tear in it . send it out
they are good about fixing it but for us we cant miss a race
from a bad carb .

your right red, it was torn when I took it apart to clean and find out why it was so stiff. I just left it that way, hoping I wont have any problems using it at madera this weekend.

I have a quicksilver and like it very much. There is no fuss with it. It is all external for setting up. No jet changes nothing. If you decide to get one get the metering tool with it. This will make it much easier to richen or make leaner. The only thing I don't like about it is the trottle cable. Edelbrock is the only place to get a replacement. I had mine for about 1 race and the trottle was sticking open,(not fun coming into a turn) But I called them up and talk tpo chris and he said he would get me a new out right away and to send the old one back, and he would refund me the cost of the new one.

Im selling a qwiksilver for a friend, who is parting out his bike. He wants 275 shipped for it and he only rode with it 2 or 3 times. I had one of these on my 426 and had 0 problems with it at all. Easy carb.
