Ticking noise

When I crank up my quad and warm it up it ticks every few seconds but only when I am warming it up I think I have to adjust the valve springs am I right I done this before and it helped but it only does this when it is cold out

that is fine, plug your ears while it warms up.

I would think that the gap between the valve and the rocker would be off while the engine is cold. as long as when it warms up the ticking goes away you are all set. btw, my 400 ticks soo bad, I can hear it over my full lrd exaust sometimes. I have tripple checked my valve settings. just have to learn to ignor it.

its not loud or anything it just ticks and chockes for a real quick second while it is ticking which is not long but yeah it has only been doing that lately when it turned cold

sounds like it almoast have something to do with the timing chain or somthing. maby the chain tensioner....? I dono.

I do think its the valves because last time I adjusted them was at Christmas so I will just do that

man u need to get some maintenance done on that thing. adjust them

I have maintained it thats not real long and I havent even rode it much and now that I think about it it was Feb.
