300 ex confused

im rebuilding my 300ex and i have it all torn apart and i sandblasted everything and painted it so it looks pretty. i put a 6 inch widening kit front nd back. so i have more stability, k&n filter dyno jet kit, rear skid, new clutch cable, all new bearings and seals on everything, so my problem is that the bike looks great now but i need more power and im stuck i have no clue what to buy what brand or nething for more power. i have to get it race ready by next summer. thanks

first i would get aftermarket suspension since your gona race if you dont have to stay below the national limit of 300cc get alot of the stuff i have in my sig if you need to stay below the 300cc limit then get a .80 over piston (brings you up to almost 300cc) instead of a 330 if you do get a 330 i have always liked the four stroke tech kit, also poweroll makes a nice kit too the only reason i didnt get one of those kits is because i bought my quad with the tc kit already in it but the tc kit has ran great for me

thanks for the info im gonna go with the 330 kit but i was thinking of sending to my local honda dealer and having the motor completely done so thats a new cam, port and polish, piston, valves, and the big bore kit but i dont know how much it will cost me and the dealer wont give me an estimate until hes done.

The local dealer is gonna rob you blind.

You'll be MUCH better off sending it off to FST or Sparks to get it done. You'll get a better motor and it will cost you about 1/4 as much.

Also, honestly, for the price of a 330 kit.

Sell the 300ex.. and buy a used 400ex in good shape that's already built up.

You'll spend about the same amount in the end, and have a much faster quad.

A full blown 330 kit with cam, valves, porting, etc, etc.... is gonna run you about $1000-1500 depending on the amount of work you have done. If you have a stock pipe/filter add another $300-400

ok then thanks for the info i will try and sell mine for what i can get for it which will prbly be around 2000-3000 if im lucky. cause i live in quebec so i dont think i will be able to get that much for it then try to buy a used 400 thanks

Bwamos approx how much did it cost you to modify your 300ex to what it is now and why didnt you just buy a 400ex if you dont mind me asking....thanks
