Stock Normal Compression and seleve question?

Looking at buying a 400? Will take a compression guage with me? What sort of compression is considered normal?

One more question? Why does a cylinder sleeve
crack? It was bored to be a 416. Since it was cracked, a new stock(not 416) piston and sleve were installed. Any thoughts if this is a problem?

i believe it should be around 120psi. It might have cracked due to over heating also.

Thanks for the information. Anything in particular I should pay close attention to or worry about when looking to purchase a 2002?

just look for the usual stuff, make sure it dont smoke, check for cracks, dont knock, etc. The ex's are pretty bullit proof though.
