i have a 99 gsxr 600,no title, but will provide a bill of sale.i was setting it up for a trackday bike but lost interest in streetbikes!i also have a shed full of parts, such as forks, wheels, motor, plastics, gastanks, clip ons, just tons of nuts bolts oodles of stuff!
I WOULD BE WILLING TO TRADE IT FOR A 400EX,250R,OR CANNONDALE or something maybe even a banshee(nothing perfect)or i would take $2000-$2500 for everything i have!

if you buy an used/ wrecked bike, make sure it has an clear title, it can be hell to impossible to get an rebuilt title...

Not to sound like a smart@ss but its pretty pricey in my opinion. And too much of a pain to get it legal also.

I picked up my near mint '02 750 for $4000.

well bikes are pretty expensive where i live. i have yet to find on 02 for less than 5500. i don't see why it would be that hard to get a title. my friend filed for a lost title on his 1969 honda cb160 and got it within a month.

yeah I had to drive a few hours into NH to get mine. In VT they are rediculous.

As far as a lost title goes. It's probably not hard to get one if it's truely lost, but more than likely in his case it is not actually lost. Maybe it was an insurance issue, or some other reason the title is missing. Otherwise he'd probably go that route rather than buying a frame off ebay and swapping everything over.

So yes, replacing a lost title is easy, but it actually has to be lost.

As for other laws such as rebuilt or salvage....varies from state to state, but I guess certain bikes for certain reasons cannot be titled anywhere...never looked into one of those.

swapping everthing over is fairly easy(a 10 year old with basic tools and mechanic skills could do it)so as for that being hard you have got to be kidding, right?
this bike was purchased with no title, and as above stated was going to be for trackdays only,so a title was not my main concern.
As far as 2000-2500 being expensive, you could sell all the parts and make over 2k!so in reality you would have a free bike.

not sure if you are talking to me, but when did I say it would be hard? I said it would be a pain.
