i know this should be in a different section but i need this info for tommrow and i havent gotten any responce in other sections...

Im getting a new cam and piston for my 300EX...

For the piston im getting an .80 over but not sure what compression ratio...i would like to stay on pump gas if possible..what would be the best?

Also the cam, what lift should i get? id like more power all around so im not sure

is there anything else i should know?

thanks guys

not real big on 300ex's but id go with 12:1 and run 93-94 octane gas through it and go with a hot came or somthing like that

i dont think you can run pump gas on a 12:1 piston

no, you really cant run pump gas on 12:1, though i have. run an 11:1 piston with the hotcams stage 2 and you should be pretty happy

ok thanks.....will i be happy with the power gains or if i run race gas with a stage 2 hot cam and a 13:1 piston? will tha gains be that significant?

thanks

go with a white brothers all around cam and 11 to piston with a 400ex carb and you will notice a big increase..

I've decided to get a .80 piston with 12:1 comp and a .335 Web cam and run race gas

make sure u get the hardfaced rockers with the webcam.

and yea if u dont already have a carb, spend 20 bucks on ebay and get a 400ex carb. pretty decent upgrade!

Do i NEED hardended rocker arms? how much more would it be

yea with the webcam you do, the webcams are harder materials then stock cams, therefor if you use the stock rocker arms the cam will eat away the rocker arms,

look on webs site for the prices, i think they are pretty pricey ! :(

do they make hotcams for the 300ex?
