ok what is the size of the intake shims? and the exhaust shims? im putting hotcam valve shims in my bike because i got my head port and polished and i need to know the sizes....thanks alot

9.48mm OD, 1.50-1.80 int.
2.00- 2.20 ex. thickness

ok man, i reali appriciate that, but are both intakes the same thickness??? how about the exhaust, are they the same thickness?

You may not have to change from original! The only way to see what is needed is to check the clearance with feeler gauges. May or may not have the same on both of intakes and exhaust, but should be within .10mm of each other.
For each .05mm change, expect to change about .002 th. in inches.
Most cams have the same base circle diameter ( diameter before the lobe) and don't require shim changes. Most diameters are within .002 th and will still be in spec unless done wrong at the factory.

A little tip- do your shimming before installing the head- bolt on your cam housing, torque to specs with shims in original places.
Reshim if needed, remove cam housing and install head.
Much easier on the bench where you can't drop shims into the engine!

very helpfull info you gave there, but i lost my stock shims and i bought a HOTCAM shim kit and need to know the stock sizes of the stock shims:rolleyes:

well the stock shims may vary from one bike to another. i would just put some shims in and go from there. it is trial and error. it kind of sucks if you ask me but i got mine where i wanted them, it just took a bit of time. :)

Start with 150 on intakes and 195 on exhaust and go from there.

ok im at a 175 for my intake and a 200 for exhaust, looks good right there but ill find out tomarrow
